Our team of specialists are all experienced experts within the field of aquatics. Each Aquatic Specialist team member has their own business and client list. This helps to maintain that personal service that many of our clients have enjoyed for years. Our members generally cover a specific geographical area and/or have various specialised fields of expertise. However when larger projects come in we team up and work together.
Aquatic Specialist has a Code of Conduct which helps to ensure an excellent level of workmanship and service.
AQUATIC SPECIALIST BOURNEMOUTH
Richard’s journey in the aquatics industry began in 1997 with fish farming, before he pursued his passion further by studying ornamental fish management at Sparsholt College in Winchester. Armed with a National Diploma in Ornamental Fish Management, he embarked on his professional aquatics career at a small aquatic center in Wimborne, specialising in Koi carp. After gaining invaluable experience there, Richard joined Maidenhead Aquatics in Havant, the UK’s largest specialist aquatic retailer.
In 2003, Richard took a significant step by founding Aquatic Specialist, a business that has flourished. With years of hands-on experience, Richard has worked on a diverse range of aquariums and ponds, establishing himself as one of the most knowledgeable specialists in the field. His current focus lies in reef aquariums and pond maintenance, although he is well-versed in all aspects of aquatic care.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Richard has shared his expertise as a lecturer at Sparsholt College and is an avid open water swimmer who enjoys snorkeling and diving to observe fish in their natural habitats. His passion for aquatics is evident in both his work and personal life.
AQUATIC SPECIALIST WIMBORNE
Dave's journey in fishkeeping began early, inspired by rock pooling during family holidays in Cornwall. By the age of 20, he earned his national diploma in fish management at Sparsholt College, marking the start of his professional career. He joined Maidenhead Aquatics in Wimborne and swiftly rose through the ranks to become shop manager, dedicating over 20 years to the company. Throughout his tenure, he significantly expanded his expertise across various areas of aquatics, contributing to the shop's remarkable growth and success. His primary interests lie in Malawi cichlids and ponds as-well as aquascaping which is one of many enjoyments he has.
In his spare time he is constantly researching to expand his knowledge in current trends and new products to enable him in providing the best for his clients with the best possible service showcasing his commitment to the aquatic world.
