Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct outlines the principles and standards of behavior expected from all members of the Aquatic Specialist Group. Our goal is to maintain a positive and professional work ethic that promotes respect, integrity, and teamwork. We also strive to ensure that all the livestock under our care are kept in the best possible conditions.
1. Professionalism
Act honestly and ethically in all interactions with clients, colleagues, suppliers, partner and associate businesses. Take ownership of your work and meet deadlines wherever possible. Ensure all tasks are completed to the best of your ability and to the expected standard.
2. Respect
Embrace and respect diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives among member businesses and clients. Use clear, respectful, and constructive communication. Listen actively and respond thoughtfully.
3. Safety and Environment
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Promote environmentally-friendly practices in all installations and maintenance services. Dispose of waste responsibly and minimise environmental impact.
4. Client Relations
Provide exceptional service to clients by being attentive, responsive, and accommodating to their needs. Respect the privacy of clients' information and do not disclose any sensitive details without permission.
5. Teamwork
Work collaboratively with other member businesses to achieve common goals when required. Share knowledge and support each other in tasks and projects. Address conflicts professionally and constructively. Seek to resolve issues amicably and involve the senior partners if necessary.
6. Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Engage in ongoing professional development. Welcome constructive feedback and use it as a tool for personal and professional growth.
7. Compliance (Legal and Ethical Standards)
Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and group policies. Report any unethical behavior or violations of this code.
8. Animal Welfare
Treat all aquatic animals with kindness and respect. Ensure their health and well-being are prioritised in all installations and maintenance activities. Follow best practices for the handling and transportation of all aquatic life to minimise stress and injury. Regularly monitor the water quality and health of animals in our care and take immediate action if any issues arise, including seeking outside assistance when necessary. Keep a detailed record of what work has been carried out and details of water quality and fish health.
